Feel understood in your own language
Psychotherapy in Portuguese
Understanding your experience
A space for care in your language

Psychotherapy in Portuguese can make a meaningful difference, especially when you are going through emotionally significant experiences. As an immigrant originally from Brazil, I understand how complex this transition can be. It often brings excitement, but also uncertainty, and a sense of moving forward while leaving important parts of life behind.
In some cases, this can include being separated from significant relationships, including pets, which can carry an emotional weight that is not always easily recognized.
In this context, having the space to communicate in your native language can allow for a way of expressing yourself that feels more natural and more aligned with what you are actually feeling.

Support Method
Therapy for individuals and couples
I offer psychotherapy for individuals and couples living in Toronto, North York and across Ontario.
If you are dealing with intrusive thoughts, patterns that feel difficult to understand, or challenges in your relationships, this can be a space to explore these experiences. Together, we can focus on:
- Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
- Life transitions and major changes
- Relationship difficulties
- Grief and different forms of loss
- Questions around identity and belonging
- Stress related to daily life or work
- Parenting and marital challenges
- Intrusive thoughts that feel difficult to control
Culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care
For many people, being able to speak in their native language can bring a sense of familiarity, comfort, and connection, something that can feel especially important when navigating emotionally significant experiences. This is the kind of space I aim to offer in therapy.
I bring over 15 years of experience as a psychologist in Brazil, along with a Ph.D. in Child and Youth Studies and postdoctoral training in Canada. My work is shaped by both clinical practice and research, with a particular focus on the emotional significance of the relationships people form, including those with animals.

Reaching out for support
Recognizing that you might need support, and reaching out for it, is not always simple. Living in a different country can sometimes bring up experiences or questions that you didn’t even realize were there before.
You are welcome to book a 15-minute consultation if you would like to explore this space. It can be an opportunity to ask questions, understand how I work, and see whether this feels like the right fit for you.
